Wingfoil Cruise Grenadines

Wingfoil Cruise Grenadines

The wingfoil spots in the Grenadines are characterized by a variety of factors that make them a “must visit” for wingfoilers:

The Grenadines offer consistent trade winds throughout the year, especially during the high season from November to July. Although the wind rarely exceeds 20 knots, you can almost daily expect wind conditions of 12-18 knots. The lagoons and reefs of the Grenadines are known for their clear, turquoise waters. The calm water in the lagoons is not only an ideal anchorage for our yacht, but also provides optimal conditions for tricks and maneuvers for both beginner and advanced wingfoilers.

The Grenadines are surrounded by unspoiled nature and breathtaking beaches. As a guest on our yacht, wingfoilers can often kite on deserted beaches that are only accessible by boat. While you often only need to share the wingspots with fellow wingfoilers traveling on our boat, the Grenadines on land are characterized by a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, typical of the Caribbean. The locals are known for their hospitality, and the rich culture and history of the islands offer additional experiences off the water.

UNION ISLAND

Union Island enjoys consistent and reliable trade winds, particularly during the peak kitesurfing season from November to June. These steady winds provide perfect conditions for both beginners and advanced riders, ensuring great sessions on the water.

The island offers a range of Kitesurfing and Wingfoiling spots catering to different skill levels and riding styles. From the flat, shallow waters of the famous Clifton Lagoon, to Frigate Island with perfect freeriding conditions for all levels.

The stunning turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and picturesque surroundings make Union Island not just a great place for kitesurfing and wingfoiling, but also a visually breathtaking destination. The natural beauty enhances the overall experience, making each session memorable.

The warm Caribbean waters around Union Island provide a comfortable environment year-round, eliminating the need for wetsuits.

MAYREAU – SALT WHISTLE BAY

Salt Whistle Bay

One of the highlights for kitesurfers on Mayreau is Salt Whistle Bay, known for its picturesque setting and excellent kitesurfing conditions. The bay counts to the most stunning anchorages of the Caribbean and the spots on the windward side, with sideonshore winds and some nice kickers for jumps are an ideal playground.
The natural beauty of the island enhances the overall experience, making each session memorable.

Mayreau is the prototype of a laid-back Caribbean Paradise and home to a friendly and welcoming local community. Beyond kitesurfing, Mayreau offers a range of other activities such as snorkeling, diving, and exploring the island’s charming village and scenic trails.

TOBAGO CAYS

These uninhabited islands offer crystal-clear, turquoise waters, steady winds, and pristine white sandy beaches – a true paradise for kitesurfers. The vast, shallow lagoons are perfect for freeriders and freestylers, while the surrounding reef provides spectacular snorkeling and diving opportunities. The breathtaking underwater world and stunning natural scenery make every session in the Tobago Cays an unforgettable adventure.

One of the absolute “must-do’s” in the Tobago Cays is, of course, the world-famous lobster BBQ on the beach. With our feet in the sand and a rum punch in hand, we end the day in the Tobago Cays while enjoying Romeo’s unique Caribbean BBQ.

MORPION ISLAND

This tiny, picture-perfect sandbank, surrounded by crystal-clear waters, offers ideal conditions for kitesurfers and wingfoilers. The lagoon can be challenging due to the shallow reefs, which is why advanced riders launch directly from the catamaran and enjoy the open waters beyond.

To end the perfect day, head to nearby Petit St. Vincent, where you can unwind with a cocktail while watching the sunset – the perfect finale to an unforgettable kite day in paradise.

Details

A typical day

A typical day in the Caribbean starts off with a swim in 26 degree crystal clear, warm water at our berth. In addition to that you can partake in a morning yoga session on the bow of the Catamaran while the crew prepares breakfast.

After breakfast we start into our first wingfoil session of the day. Our instructors will help you launch the wings from the boat. They will keep an eye on you throughout each of your sessions to keep you safe and ensure that it’s a fun session.

At noon we set sail and while you peacefully enjoy a boosting snack on board, we are heading to our next anchorage point and wing spot. Depending on your motivation you can either have a second wing session or explore the island by yourself or with one of our guides.

At sunset we usually meet with everyone on board to end the day with a sundowner drink on deck and start our evening.

We then either go ashore to find a nice restaurant or a fisherman’s hut for dinner, or alternatively we all cook together on board and organize a small, private ‘rum tasting’ before we hitting the hay.

How to get to the Grenadines

Wingfoil and Kitesurf Cruise Genadinen Spots

Fortunately, there are no direct flights to the Grenadines. As a result, the island paradise is still mostly spared by Mass Tourism. Nevertheless, there are several comparatively easy ways to get there. We offer 4 different arrival options on our charters.

Martinique as the start and end point of the trip:  Martinique is the easiest and often the cheapest to reach from Europe. However, it is also the furthest away from the kitespots of the Grenadines. Sailing time from Martinique to the first kitespot: 24 hours.

Saint Lucia as the start and end point of the trip:  Saint Lucia is a popular destination, especially for those arriving from North America, and is easy to get to and there are also good flight connections from Europe. Sailing time from Saint Lucia to the first kite spot in the Grenadines: 14 hours.

Saint Vincent as the start and end point of the trip: Saint Vincent is the largest island in the Grenadines and currently not quite as easy to reach as Martinique and Saint Lucia. Flights to Saint Vincent are usually a good deal more expensive and can almost always only be reached with at least one change of plane. Sailing time from Saint Vincent to the first kite spot: 6 hours.

Union Island as the start and end point of the trip: Union Island can only be reached by small propeller planes. Acceptable flight connections are via Barbados, for example, from where you then change to a small plane. Large board bags with equipment cannot be taken on board. Sailing time from Union Island to the first kitespot: none! 2 minutes’ walk from the airport.

Living on a Yacht vs. in a Hotel on shore

Imagine waking up each morning to the gentle sway of the ocean, the sound of waves lapping against the hull, and the sight of a breathtaking sunrise over an endless horizon. This is the reality of living onboard a sailing catamaran for your vacation—a reality that offers a level of relaxation and disconnection from the daily grind that is unparalleled by any shore-based holiday. A sailing catamaran serves as your private, floating oasis, far removed from the hustle and bustle of crowded beaches and tourist hotspots. The spacious decks and cabins provide a sense of freedom and privacy, allowing you to unwind and savor each moment.

Living on a catamaran immerses you in the natural world like never before. Each day, we anchor in the best Kitesurfing and wingfoil spots you can imagine, swim in crystal-clear waters, and explore pristine beaches that are often inaccessible from the shore. The sights, sounds, and smells of the sea become a constant backdrop, helping you reconnect with nature and appreciate its simple, yet profound beauty.

One of the greatest benefits of living onboard a catamaran is the opportunity to truly unplug. With limited access to the internet and a lack of constant digital distractions, you can disconnect from the demands of daily life. This digital detox allows you to focus on the present moment, enjoy the company of likeminded people and focus on whats truly important.
